For the main event of Korean Culture Festival in Hungary 2023 (hosted by KOCIS – Korean Culture and Information Service and Korean Cultural Center of Hungary), we have organized 발우공양 Barugongyang (eating & walking meditation) at Haris Park, Budapest, Hungary.

We have participated in Korean Culture Festival in Hungary 2023 (hosted by KOCIS – Korean Culture and Information Service and Korean Cultural Center of Hungary) as an organizer for a series of Korean temple food events by Venerable Jeong Kwan(정관스님).

Venerable Jeong Kwan is a renowned Buddhist practitioner and a Korean temple food master with numerous international accolades, also known as the “Philosopher chef” featured by Netflix series “Chef’s Table”.

Barugongyang is the traditional monastic meal ceremony in Korean Buddhist temples but it was carried out in a simplified manner to emphasize its message and meaning. Through this event, Ven. Jeong Kwan and we aimed to contribute to a more sustainable world and also to spread the Buddhist idea of perceiving eating as meditation rather than mere sustenance.
Every detail was carefully managed to highlight our core message “sustainability” including food ingredients, plates, equipment, etc.

Hungarian politicians, influencers and media have come and participated in this meaningful event, including Ms. Aniko Levai, the wife of Prime Minister of Hungary.
