Stage demonstration at Mokkoji Korea 2024 in Hungary
This year, Mokkoji Korea (모꼬지 대한민국)—the largest Korean cultural festival in the world, arrived in Budapest, drawing over 12,000 visitors. Mokkoji Korea celebrates the vibrant cultural icons and lifestyle of Korea—from K-pop and K-food to K-beauty and global Korean enterprises.
In collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, we were thrilled and honored to introduce Korean cuisine to festival visitors, with a spotlight on kimchi. Alongside Hungarian wine expert Dr. Csiba-Herczeg Ágnes, we co-hosted two special stage demonstrations highlighting making kimchi to cooking with kimchi using local and seasonal Hungarian produce. We also had a chance to talk about Korean food and Hungarian wine pairings inspired by our co-authored book, Seoul-Budapest. Together, we shared the unique pairing experience of Hungarian wines with Korean kimchi dishes.
The event received media coverage not only in Korea and Hungary but also internationally.
